is reporting that Adam Driver (Girls) is on the verge of signing on for a role in Star Wars Episode VII. Sources says the character will be villain in the same style as Darth Vader. Driver is the first cast member to be revealed for J.J. Abrams' new Star Wars film, first announced following the purchase of Lucasfilm by Disney. Driver has been rumored to be in the running for a role in the new Star Wars franchise, but has been trying to work out scheduling conflicts with Girls. Sources say these conflicts were made more complicated since Driver's character in Star Wars is expected to return in future film installments, just as his character on Girls is expected to be in future seasons. Sources say those conflicts have now been resolved and that the deal should be finalized in a matter of days. Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to being filming in London in April, meaning more cast announcement are likely just around the corner. Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled for theatrical release December 18, 2015.
