ComicBook.com is pleased to present an exclusive look at next week's Blu-ray release of The Grandmaster. The film, out on March 4 on Blu-ray and DVD, recently made the Oscar Best Foreign-Language Film Shortlist as Hong Kong's submission. The film is currently available on all major digital retailers, Video On-Demand and on Pay-Per-View services. From acclaimed director/writer Wong Kar Wai comes an epic tale inspired by the life of the warrior hero who taught Bruce Lee. Asian superstar Tony Leung portrays legendary Kung Fu master Ip Man, who survived the turmoil of 1930s China to change the world of martial arts forever. Ziyi Zhang and Chang Chen co-star in this visually stunning saga of love, honor and vengeance, featuring breathtaking action choreography by Yuen Wo Ping. The clip below is from a bonus feature titled "The Grandmaster, From Ip Man to Bruce Lee," and focuses on the research and physical training that Wong Kar Wai, Tony Leung and Ziyi Zhang underwent for the film, traveling abroad to see some of the greatest grandmasters currently practicing the martial arts. "I am a big fan of Bruce Lee, [since] I was ten years old," Leung says in an interview included below. "I know Ip Man because of Bruce Lee. He is not just an action hero or a superstar, but he is a thinker, a philosopher, a man with great passion for life. In the film, I tried to portray my ideal Ip Man for myself, so I tried to blend in the Bruce Lee character into the Ip Man character." Check out the full clip below. A free, tie-in graphic novel was also released, which you can find at this link.
