The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Warner Bros. may have pushed Henry Cavill's Batman-centric Man of Steel sequel out of 2015 and into the less-crowded 2016, but that doesn't mean the fledgling superstar will be without a movie on the big screen next year. Man From U.N.C.L.E., the TV remake starring Cavill and Armie Hammer, will come to the screen on January 16, 2015, Warner Bros. announced today. Directed by Sherlock Holmes's Guy Ritchie, Man From U.N.C.L.E is the early favorite to head up the box office over next year's Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend Cavill, Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Luca Calvani star. The Cavill/Hammer Man From U.N.C.L.E. is the third attempt at making the movie in recent years for Warner Bros. The first time, Ocean's Eleven filmmaker Steven Soderbergh was set to direct George Clooney in the lead role. When the pair bailed, the job went to Ritchie, who cast Tom Cruise before he, too, left to focus on Mission: Impossible 5. Cavill replaced him almost immediately. Cavill will star as CIA agent Napoleon Solo opposite Hammer's KGB operative Illya Kuryakin, who team up amidst the Cold War to stop a global criminal organization. Jared Harris, Elizabeth Debicki and Hugh Grant also appear in the film.
