After spending the last couple weeks on Twitter apologizing to Daniel Clowes for not crediting him when copying parts of Clowes' Justin M. Damiano graphic novel for his short film HowardCantour.com, Shia LaBeouf has announced that he is taking a break from Twitter. Then again, he might just be mocking Patton Oswalt, who was recently critical of LaBeouf on Twitter. On January 2, Patton Oswalt tweeted, "Dear Shia LaBeouf (@thecampaignbook): If you're gonna be that dumb, delusional AND boring when you speak, just go ahead and plagiarize." Earlier today LaBeouf tweeted, "Everything we have today that's cool comes from someone wanting more of something they loved in the past. Action figures, videogames, superhero movies, iPods: All are continuations of a love that wanted more." Then, LaBeouf added, "Gonna hop off Twitter for awhile. Enjoy the sunshine, breathe the air. Hope no one was offended." The first tweet about someone wanting more of something they loved in the past is lifted from an essay Patton Oswalt wrote for Wired concerning Geek culture. The second tweet is lifted from a tweet that Patton Oswalt made last year.
