Warning: Spoilers ahead for Iron Man 3, in theaters in May.

Last time around, Iron Man gained a partner and an opposite number in Rhodey Rhodes's War Machine--but in Iron Man 3, IGN reports that another character will actually wear Tony's Iron Man armor, even using it during a key action sequence. The website is one of handful of news and review organizations to have been given access to a 15-minute clip of the film revolving around the attack on Stark's mansion, seen in all of the ads. While others did spoiler-free reviews, IGN did a beat-by-beat rehashing of what they saw, giving a big chunk of story to their readers in a fair amount of detail. Most of it, though, was just "helicopters attack, stuff blows up, here's what happens next." It sounds like Marvel picked a sexy action sequence to show to critics but nothing that was going to spoil a ton of plot. That said, long-standing rumors that Pepper Potts will see action in a suit of armor in Iron Man 3 are definitively confirmed, as Tony puts himself at risk to send the remote-controlled (Extremis?) armor onto Pepper's body, protecting his girlfriend when the house suffers major structural damage before taking care of himself. In return, she saves him and Maya Hansen from the collapsing building before the pair are separated. You an read below for a more detailed account.

As Pepper and Tony argue, Maya glances at a TV and sees news coverage of helicopters ominously approaching Tony's home - that they are currently standing inside. She yells out to Tony, who looks outside and sees the helicopters coming, just before they open fire. In slow motion, the first missiles hit the home, which is when Tony reaches out his hand, using what looks to be the movie's version of the Extremis technology from the comics, as he actually summons the Iron Man armor from across the room, sending the various parts flying towards him. Except then Tony moves his hand in a sweep, away from himself, sending the armor towards… Pepper! And yes, this causes the armor to completely cover Pepper Potts, putting her in inside and in control of Iron Man. Pepper herself looks shocked by all of this, but when a portion of the roof begins to cave in and nearly flattens Tony, Pepper leaps forward, and shields him, with the debris breaking across the armor's back. "I got you," she says to Tony, who replies, "I got you first." Pepper wants to help Tony get out of the rapidly collapsing home, but he insists she get Maya to safety first. Pepper clearly has had no training in the armor and is an amusing mess. Turning on the gauntlet repulsors she accidentally flings herself out of a window at one point. But she manages to get Maya outside and away from the home and Jarvis tells Tony they are safe. Hearing this, Tony puts his hand out again and the armor is pulled off Pepper, back inside the house and onto Tony. Tony tells Jarvis to blow up all of his previous suits of armor, not wanting there to be any chance Mandarin gets them. Jarvis asks if he's sure and Tony says to do it and one by one each armor blows up, even as more missiles and gunfire batter the house.

Sounds like a scene with a little action, a little comedy, some long-simmering fanboy desire to see Gwyneth Paltrow in the armor and possibly an explanation for that very conspicuous "Pepper without a shirt" moment in the most recent trailer.
