RZA, currently directing The Man With Iron Fists, will next take on a film adaptation of Happy!, the new Image Comics title by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, from a script to be written by Morrison, according to The Hollywood Reporter. No studio or producers are yet attached to the film, which revolves around corrupt ex-cop Nick Sax, who starts to see a little blue, flying pony called Happy when he's recovering from injuries sustained during a hit gone wrong. In the days leading up to Christmas, Sax teams up with the My Little Pony-wannabe to the save the life of a troubled kid. RZA, a former hip-hop producer and the frontman for the Wu-Tang Clan (who have comic book connections themselves), entered the film community in 1995 with Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai and has gone on to star in everything from Jim Jarmusch's low-budget, black-and-white indie Coffee and Cigarettes to G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
