Over the course of her illustrious acting career, Hollywood superstar Charlize Theron has taken part in a handful of sex scenes on screen. In her experience, the 41-year-old actress has found that she prefers filming the racy sequences with other women instead of men.

During an interview with Extra, the Oscar winner opened up about her upcoming film Atomic Blonde and dished on what was like to film a steamy scene with her female co-star Sofia Boutella.

"With Sofia, it was easy just because we're both dancers and you have to choreograph those scenes quite a bit," she said. "Otherwise, they just become silly. There is a technical aspect to it, so with her, it was really easy because she thinks like me because we're dancers. We shot that scene in, like, 45 minutes and with the guys, they're not dancers, so, it takes a bit more work. I enjoy both — yes!"

"Doing a love scene with guys is different, but I enjoy both," she added.

For her role in the action flick, Theron challenged herself to get into the best physical shape of her life. She portrays a lethal assassin named Lorraine in Atomic Blonde, and there are a number of intense hand-to-hand combat scenes.

"We always wanted to raise the bar a little, but with the action, we wanted it to still feel that a woman could do all of that stuff — that was important for me as a woman, I wanted it to feel authentic, so no one can say a woman can't do that," she said. "I'm going to be 42 in August, very proud to say, ladies."

The Mad Max: Fury Road star revealed that the training took a toll on her body. She actually chipped two teeth while filming.

"I went through the first two surgeries before we started the film, and then I wrapped the movie and had another two surgeries and I still have one more," she said.

Even though Theron frequently plays fierce characters on screen, she says that her two kids — Jackson, 6, and August, 2 — don't realize how cool she is.

"They don't think I'm cool at all! I was singing in the car the other day and Jackson was like, 'Mom, can you not sing, please? Stop doing that.' " she recalled.
