"Some things were never meant to be found."

To get ahead of the avalanche of Super Bowl television spots that will be coming out tomorrow during the big game, Sony Pictures Entertainment along with Skydance has chosen to release its Super Bowl television spot for Life -- an upcoming sci-fi thriller starring Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal -- one day early. Sony also released a brand new full-length trailer, which also wasn't expected to arrive until tomorrow as well.

In both, we see astronauts aboard an space station discovering alien life. It should be a joyous and momentous occasion for them and the rest mankind, but it soon turns into a nightmare.

Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research and their methods end up having unintended consequences, the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Child 44), written by Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese (Deadpool), and produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bonnie Curtis, and Julie Lynn. Don Granger and Vicki Dee Rock serve as executive producers.

The cast features Jake Gyllenhaal (Source Code), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation), Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine), Ariyon Bakare (A Respectable Trade), and Olga Dihovichnaya (House of Others).

Life will be released on May 24, 2017.
