Hot off the slew of information about the upcoming Expendables 4, Sylvester Stallone has been tapped to direct and star in his next feature film, Tough as They Come. The film, based on true events, will also star Adam Driver.

The film is based on the memoirs of the same name, based on the life of Travis Mills. The story centers around United States Army Staff Sergeant Mills, who is one of only five soldiers to have survived a quadruple amputation from an injury on the battlefield.

Driver is set to play Mills and Stallone will play his father-in-law, who stood by Mills' side on the road to recovery, with the film focusing on the relationship between the two.

Stallone was recently offered a much higher profile gig, with president-elect Donald Trump offering him a position in the NEA. The actor turned down the job, claiming he instead wanted to focus on shining a light on the trauma faced by veterans returning home from combat and the massive amount of challenges they face when attempting to reintegrate into society.

It's possible that this film is the specific example of what Stallone was hoping to do, in addition to numerous amount of charitable acts the star set his sights on accomplishing.
