Over 10,000 Amiga Game Titles Were Just Released Online For Everyone To Play

The Internet Archive just posted over 10,000 Amiga games available to play for free online. The list includes classic titles such as "Double Dragon," "Batman: The Movie" "Lemmings," "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego," "King's Quest," and "Double Dragon."

If 10,000 games seems like a high number to you, it may be because it probably is. According to Hall of Light, a website that is dedicated specifically to cataloging every game released by Amiga, there is a total of 5,698 total games. This indicates that there are likely some duplicate games on the internet archive list. Also, it's hard to say exactly how different "Deluxe Pac Man v1.1" may be from "Deluxe Pac Man v1.7a," but it's more than likely almost the same exact game.

Classic games like "Sid Meier's Civilization," "Elite," "Cannon Fodder," "The Secret of Monkey Island" or "Dune 2" have not been found amongst the list. Another issue with the release is that there have been reports that the web-based emulator seems to run really slow on Chrome and Edge. Brian Heater at TechCrunch mentioned that Firefox was the browser that seemed to work best. Also, The Next Web mentions that you would be better off downloading the game files and running them on your own emulator.

There's also a long list of applications and demo titles to go along with the games that are "designed to show off the hardware's capabilities," according to the Verge.

While there are a couple complaints about the release, there's still a ton of good titles available for you to get in all of the gaming that you could ever desire.
