It's on, it's off. There are actors and writers working on it. Everyone's committed. Officially greenlit.

Those are some of the rumors that have swirled around Beetlejuice 2 in the last several months. Well, Tim Burton, the director behind the classic horror comedy, is ready to set the record straight.

"The fact of it is I have talked to Michael [Keaton] and I have talked to Winona [Rider]; I've talked to a few people," Burton told Collider. "It's something that I really would like to do in the right circumstances, but it's one of those films where it has to be right. It's not a kind of a movie that cries out [for a sequel], it's not the Beetlejuice trilogy. So it's something that if the elements are right, because I do love the character and Michael's amazing as that character, so yeah, we'll see. But there's nothing concrete yet."

And that's the definitive word from the man that is at the center of all of this: "there's nothing concrete yet." While Keaton and Rider have had conversations, and it's certainly something on Burton's radar, Beetlejuice 2 isn't as far along as some rumors would have you believe.
