If you're a huge fan of Ferris Bueller's Day Off and you'll be in the Chicago area from May 20-22, you'll want to call in sick so that you can participate in Ferris Fest.

It's a three-day event being held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic '80s film, which was written and directed by John Hughes and starred Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara and Alan Ruck. Organizers have planned lots of fun activities, such as a special screening of the film, a recreation of the "Twist and Shout" parade sequence, a meticulous recreation of Ferris Bueller's bedroom, and a bus tour to filming locations: Cameron's house, Glenbrook North High School, Art Institute of Chicago, and Willis (aka Sears) Tower.

"A special screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off will be held on Saturday, May 21 at the John and Nancy Hughes Theater located in Lake Forest, Illinois with stars from the film for a special 30th anniversary Q&A," states the Ferris Fest's website. "Noted Chicago film critic Richard Roeper will be hosting the screening, with guests Cindy Pickett, Lyman Ward (Ferris Bueller's parents) and Jonathan Schmock (French restaurant maitre d') in attendance."

The full-three day package goes for $300. If you can't attend the entire weekend, they have individual day tickets available as well. Saturday and Sunday's festivities cost $175 each.
