The disturbing trend of seeing beloved parts of generations of childhoods (and beyond) dying of cancer unfortunately continues to roll on, as Brian Bedford, an actor of stage and screen, passed away late Wednesday after a two year fight with cancer, at age 80.

The actor was best known to our audience as the voice of Robin Hood in Disney's 1973 animated film, Robin Hood, that cast animals as the main players.

Bedford was, however, a celebrated stage actor for nearly 60 years. He won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play in 1971's "The School for Wives," and received six more nominations in the category across his forty year Broadway career. He also won six Drama Desk Awards for his stage acting.

Bedford is survived by his husband Tim MacDonald. Oo-de-lally what a career.
