Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 Would Bring Back Newt & She'll Become The New Ripley

In 1986's Aliens, Rebecca "Newt" Jorden (Carrie Henn) was the last surviving colonist from the LV-426 settlement, which was overrun by a Xenomorph infestation. She survived by living in the ventilation system and that is where Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and the marines came across her. The emotional toll she experienced while being on her own for so long left her in a feral state, however, the kindness in which Ripley cared for her brought back Newt's humanity. We later learned in Alien 3 that Newt was killed by a stowaway Xenomorph while she was in cryo-sleep, just like Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn).

In a new interview, Michael Biehn confirmed that he will star, along with Sigourney Weaver, in Neill Blomkamp's Alien film — currently on hold because of Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel — and it will act as though "Alien 3 and 4 never existed." Can I get a hallelujah! He goes on to say that this revision will also open the door for Newt to come back. Although, this version of Newt will be older than the last time we saw her and whoever lands the role will become the new Ripley.

"They're planning on bringing me and Newt back and at this point Newt will be around twenty-seven years old," Biehn told Icons of Fright. "I know that every actress in Hollywood is going to want to play this one, it's really a passing of the torch between Sigourney and this younger actress who would play Newt. It would keep the franchise alive and the studios would make money, because that's what the bottom line is now: money."
