Happy Birthday! Tim Burton Turns 57 Today

Today is Tim Burton's birthday.

As one of Hollywood's most iconic directors, producers, and writers, Tim Burton has left an unmistakable mark throughout his filmmaking career. However, Comic books fans will obviously know him best for directing 1989's blockbuster Batman film and its sequel, Batman Returns.

Burton's resume also includes Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks!, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street, The Corpse Bride, and Alice In Wonderland. And while he did not direct The Nightmare Before Christmas, he was a key producer in the popular Disney cartoon. And once upon a time, Burton was actually set to direct the Nicolas Cage-starring Superman film, Superman Lives, before Warner Bros. canceled the film.
