One of the biggest moments of the first season on The CW's The Flash was revealing Grodd -- and that they could actually make the character work on TV.

The CW paid quite a lot of attention to Grodd, and to their award-winning visual effects team, back when the episode was new, but this week, Encore VFX posted a new video themselves going behind the scenes of the creation of the gorilla.

You can check it out below.

"He's challenging, I'll tell you for a number of reasons," The Flash's visual effects chief Armen Kevorkian told ComicBook.com in a recent interview. "Obviously, there's a lot of eyes on something like that when you do it for television, you know, doing an animated gorilla, especially coming off a year when Planet of the Apes did what they did. So the challenge is more internal, where you're nervous or like 'How are we going to pull this off?' But again, I think with planning -- and we've got an amazing team of talented artists -- you sort of figure out as you go, what's the best way to do this with the time and resources that you have."

The Flash will return to The CW with new episodes on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT in October.
