While the season hadn't started shooting yet, that didn't stop The Flash from having a pretty big presence, and dropping plenty of hints about the upcoming season, at Comic-Con International: San Diego last weekend.

There were casting announcements, character additions and more.

So...what did we learn last weekend about the forthcoming, second season of The Flash? Read on...

Earth-2 is the new "particle accelerator"

At Comic-Con, they revealed that Earth-2 will be a major source for new metahuman characters, both friend and foe alike, in Season Two. This will replace the particle accelerator explosion, which was the "origin story" of nearly ever powered character who appeared during the show's first season.

Zoom is coming

This is the big one, of course; in the comics, Professor Zoom and the Reverse Flash are names that were used almost interchangeably for years before Geoff Johns introduced Hunter Zolomon, a character who went exclusively by Zoom. It sounds as though it's still the voice of "Harrison Wells" we're hearing as a threat here, so could Earth-2's version of either Wells or Eobard Thawne-as-Wells be Zoom rather than Zolomon in this reality? If so, will he have the wheelchair which was associated with Zolomon before Thawne took it on as an affect on TV?

Meanwhile, we're getting a blue color to the lightning this season, possibly tied to the "five years later" version of The Flash who recently appeared in the comics.

Jay Garrick is on a mission

"My name is Jay Garrick, and your world is in danger," says the Earth-2 version of The Flash in a voice-over.

Whatever it is that's brought him here, it sounds like he's here on a mission.

Vibe is Coming

On some level, The Flash will develop the storyline introduced in last season's finale: Cisco Ramon is going to continue to progress toward what the show producers tend to call his "comic book destiny." We can hear him saying as much during the montage of audio clips from the new season in the Comic-Con teaser -- wondering what's happening to him, through some kind of vibrational audio distortion.

There are plans for Killer Frost

They still aren't committing to exactly what Killer Frost is doing or when she'll pop up -- but from Danielle Panabaker certainly seems excited to get to it, whatever it is. We'd say there's a plan beyond just "I get to wear tights." After all, the last time a non-costumed character was so keen on being costumed in the CWverse was Katie Cassidy...!
