From The Dark Knight to Ant-Man, David Dastmalchian is one of very few actors to be featured in both a DC Cinematic and Marvel Cinematic Universes.

Dastmalchian, who plays Scott Lang's hacker buddy Kurt in the upcoming Ant-Man, has been a comic book fan his entire life. In fact, he even told us he knew his wife was the one when, "She had some great Dark Knight stuff," and "Comics from Frank Miller framed on her wall." Who could argue with that?

Back on track, though, Dastmalchian has experienced both sides of comic book cinematic universes, but does he have a preference? Like most of us, yes, he does. He humbly admits, The Dark Knight is "one of the greatest films ever made," but ultimately is team Marvel. Speaking to him exclusively after a screening of Ant-Man, Dastmalchian went into detail analyzing the pros and cons of Marvel and DC.

"I think tonally, the darkness and the villains and the noir aspect of... Especially that phase of DC when I was reading first, which would come in in the early 90s, late 80s on, there was a really great heyday period there in the comics where they really pushed the barriers of what those [DC] characters were doing. Heroically, on the Marvel side of thing, what Marvel does so well and now it's another awesome thing about the Cinematic Universe, is this idea of people who don't necessarily like each other, and diverse skills, and diverse abilities, and from different parts of the world having to come together is a really nice thing. I feel like they're building to, if you remember in the Secret Wars thing that took place, that makes sense in this world. You could understand how guys like people in our film could be intersecting with Stephen Strange or people from Guardians for goodness sake!"

Villains truly are an important part of any franchise - be it a novel, comic book, television series, or movie. There's no arguing against the fact DC has some powerful villains and Marvel has fun, diverse heroes! Which cinematic style do you prefer? Marvel or DC?
