CHRISPRATT

Do you ever wonder how actors deliver such genuine reactions to monsters, or in this case dinosaurs, that aren't really there? Conan host Conan O'Brien does, too. He asked Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt about it and the answer he got was pretty funny (although, maybe we shouldn't be laughing so hard!).

Although Conan clearly hadn't seen Jurassic World when asking the question about Pratt's Owen Grady character being attacked by a pterodon because if he had, he'd know it was on top Pratt while he lay on his back. Anyway, Pratt had quite the story for how those dinosaurs come to be on the big screen.

"You want something you can really react to," Pratt explained. "So what they did, since they wanted to create this organic reaction of me holding somebody, is they got this stunt man, Marty. Marty is a little person. But stout! He's this buff little person. And a stud! He's a stuntman. Works all the time. He's very durable." So, long story short - Marty was playing the pterodon and chomping in Pratt's face as Pratt tried to hold him off in genuine terror.

After the bout with the dinosaur, the script called for Pratt to toss the dino aside. "I throw the thing down and it's dead. So, I throw him...and I chucked him...and he smashed his head," Pratt let on. "His head hits really hard. His job was to just lay there still like he was dead and the whole scene I was like, 'Yeah, I just killed Marty. I think I killed Marty.'"

Good news! Marty was okay. Pratt let us know, "He gets up, he's like, 'Aw, man, it's all good!' And he's bleeding down his face and they cleaned him up and he did another one, just like that! Because that's how stunt men are, man."
