Is there a Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle rivalry in the works?

Last night in the 6-hour SummerSlam, WWE had a brief backstage segment with Angle and Bryan. The two began to pick at one another over which show (RAW or SmackDown) would have the better night at SummerSlam. Their binary opinion naturally gave way to a hilarious Yes/No chant as show below:

Daniel Bryan retweeted a similar post with "#BryanvsAngle." However it's since been deleted. Normally a deleted tweet is not news, but in this case it's not so simply dismissed.

WWE could have asked Bryan to take the tweet down because they didn't want to mislead fans. Or, WWE didn't want Bryan spoiling a plan that it's the works - like a full on RAW vs. SmackDown war.

Both men were at NXT Takeover Brooklyn over the weekend and were said be be scouting. Even further, WWE is said to have already made their choices for the next batch of NXT call-ups. Perhaps Bryan and Angle can feud over the next Superstar Shake Up. Perhaps that feud could lead to a match between the two GM's.

This past week in particular, both men were very vocal about their aspirations to return to the WWE ring. Let's start with Angle, he said the following over the weekend in an interview with Between the Ropes:

"I love it, I've always loved being around the business. But to be the General Manager of Raw is a huge honor. I still get that feeling that I want to get back in that ring and go at it. Hopefully down the road I take a physical and we get moving in that direction but right now I'm very happy being the GM."

But Angle has more than aspiration, he has a target start date:

"I'm looking probably early next year. It's all going to be up to Vince (McMahon). He's making the decisions. He just started a storyline with Jason Jordan and myself and I think a lot of good things are coming down the road."

And now for Bryan. In a very revealing appearance on E&C's pod of Bryan said that his career ending diagnosis came from a huge misunderstanding. On top of that, he think he can return to a regular wrestling schedule:

"There's no reason why I can't return to doing what I love," he said, adding that he "hopes to come back to wrestling in a part-time, 50-100 matches a year schedule."

So the question begs, is WWE trying to keep a Bryan/Angle feud under wraps? For now all we can do is guess. Time will tell.
