Amidst the incredibly good episode of SmackDown last week, fans may have missed the beginning moments of a very interesting feud. Even though AJ Styles, Chris Jericho and John Cena served as the pillars of watercooler conversation, it was a furious Kevin Owens who closed the show.

After losing his US Championship in a spontaneous triple threat match, Owens felt like he was placed in a highly compromising situation by SmackDown Commissioner, Shane McMahon. So much so, that WWE cameras actually showed him confronting McMahon on multiple occasions. It caught attentive eyes and rumors began to swirl. And according to Sean "X-Pac Waltman," they aren't going anywhere.

As a guest on WrestleZone Daily, the former nWo and DX member shared a conversation that leads us to believe that a SummerSlam match between Owens and McMahon may be a certainty.

"About two weeks ago when I saw Shane on TV I said, 'He's getting ready for a match.' I could tell by looking at him. He's back in the kind of similar shape he was in at WrestleMania. If they have a match it'll be a good match. They'll make sure nothing is left to chance with it," Waltman said.

Waltman all but confirmed a SummerSlam match between Owens and McMahon. It's kind of amazing that one wrestler can look at another and tell if they're preparing for a match. McMahon's training has been so intense that it allows him to walk away from helicopter crashes. That said, what in the world can we expect to see at SummerSlam?

Shane's last match was at WrestleMania 33 against AJ Styles. It was sneakily the best match on the card. However, we can safely expect a better match with Kevin Owens. That's no slight against AJ Styles either, as good as his WrestleMania match was, the chemistry was a little off. Fans had to suppress the urge to cheer for AJ Styles. This will not be the case with Kevin Owens.

Even though Owens has a cult following of his own, fans will gravitate towards McMahon with little inhibition about booing KO. In short, this is a match we can look forward to.

Expect this story to get fed a little more momentum this Tuesday. We're only 3 weeks away from SummerSlam and it's time for WWE to really shovel some coal on these simmering storylines.
