When it comes to merchandise, WWE is not shy about utilizing their stars to make money. Whether it be shirts, hats, jackets, lunch boxes, party plates, or Becky Lynch's goggles, there's something for every WWE fan, which includes the toy collector as well.
Action figures are a big and longstanding part of WWE's business strategy, and they're quick to strike when a character or returning legend is experiencing some momentum. It didn't take long after Enzo and Cass debuted on the main roster before they got action figures, and the same goes for other NXT call ups like Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and Bayley.
The company is also always expanding its legends line of figures, including icons like The Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Booker T, and Shawn Michaels. Later this year they'll even release some speciality sets that feature certain graduate classes, including the class of 2002 which includes superstars like Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and NWO versions of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
Still, as vast as their range is there are more than a few superstars that have yet to get the action figure treatment, and here are 5 more figures that fans would love to see as part of their collections!
WWE's biggest event, WrestleMania 33 kicks off Sunday, April 2nd, and you can find the fully announced card below, as well as more images in the gallery.
United States Champion Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens
RAW's Women's Champion Bayley vs Charlotte Flair vs Sasha Banks
Universal Champion Goldberg Vs Brock Lesnar
WWE Champion Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton
Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss Against All Smackdown Women
Tag Team Champions The Club vs Enzo And Big Cass vs Sheamus And Cesaro
2017 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Rumored Matches include: John Cena and Nikki Bella Tag Match against The Miz and Maryse, The Big Show vs Shaq, Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles, and Triple H vs Seth Rollins. No word yet on how or if Finn Balor will be involved, as he just returned from injury to perform at WWE's recent live shows.
When Chris Jericho returned to the ring after a hiatus, he decided to adopt a new look for in the ring, and it's aptly been described as his "dad look". You know, when your friend's dad is trying a bit too hard to look cool but is blissfully unaware it is evident to everyone in the room.
Still, Chris Jericho manages to make it work, though it does help that he's been a rather snarky heel for most of his current run. His suit jacket with no shirt and jeans is only complete with some random scarf and paired with his trusty clipboard, well, it sort of demands its own figure.
Naomi underwent a character makeover, and for all intents and purposes, it seems to have worked. The most interesting aspect of her old look was her light up tennis shoes she always rocked to the ring. Why not run with it right?
That's exactly what she did, and she emerged with a new glow theme that even made it to her entrance. It's given her a defining schtick to her character, and paired with her athletic talents she's even claimed the title before an injury stalled her reign. This new look demands an action figure to go along with it, and a blacklight figure would be a cool addition to anyone's WWE collection.
Bray Wyatt finally achieved the impossible, or at least what many thoughts was impossible, and claimed the WWE Heavyweight championship at Elimination Chamber. Wyatt has had a few figures from Mattel thus far, but this newest achievement certainly deserves a new one.
The belt would be included of course, and none of the other figures have featured Bray's more dreadlocked look. With the belt and dreads, it would probably be better to have this as an Elite series figure, but a regular wouldn't be bad either.
Goldberg has been a freight train since returning to the WWE, plowing through what many considered to be the most frightening superstar in WWE Brock Lesnar not once, but twice. He then creamed Kevin Owens at Fastlane to take the Universal Championship, a belt he will defend against Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
Being that he's conquered so much since returning, it would make sense for an Elite series figure to hit the shelves soon. It would come with the Universal Championship and a swappable portrait, featuring his crazed face and a more stoic one for his entrance. Pyro and smoke will be on you to provide though.
WWE has introduced a bevy of Legends figures, and more than a few Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels figures as well. What they haven't done is a nod to fans of the more meta elements of WWE, and this would have plenty of that.
During SumerSlam 2005, a match would take place that would go down in history for pretty much all the wrong reasons. Real heat formed between Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan, who canceled their rematch and did not want to job to Michaels. As a result, Michaels did lose to Hogan but did everything in his power to make a farce of the match, overselling all of Hogan's offense, including ridiculous bouncing off the ropes and the mat. This set would include a Shawn Michaels and a bloody Hogan along with a ring with super bouncy ropes, for people at home to recreate the match that some would rather forget.
