Patty Jenkins is currently deep into the editing process on Wonder Woman, her own project with DC Films due to hit theaters early June 2017. But while she works on Gal Gadot's (and the character's) first solo starring film, she took some time off to attend the UK premiere of Suicide Squad, the DC movie that hits this week, and the last one ahead of hers. Jenkins took to twitter to offer up her review, and why she is baffled by the critical response.

"Uh... You guys. Super confused. Just went to the premiere of #SuicideSquad. Hadn't seen it. It's great!" Jenkins wrote. "Not sort of great. GREAT! I mean... I loved it. So surprised by some reviews. I don't get it. I thought it was awesome. And NOT just because I'm in the DC world. Truly."

Many critics have responded to Suicide Squad in much the same way they did to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, resulting in a low-30s score on RottenTomatoes ahead of its release. More fan-oriented sites including Comicbook.com, CBR, Slashfilm, and others, however, have praised the film's embracing of a sense of fun and the strong character-focused work of the movie. Apparently, Jenkins agrees with the latter much more.

Fans can find out for themselves when Suicide Squad officially opens on August 5, 2016. Meanwhile, Jenkins will get to work bringing Wonder Woman to life next June.
