House Frey
Arya's story has consisted of revenge plots and assassinations over the last couple of years, and she kept that trend going into the new year.
Season 6 ended with Arya killing Walder Frey, the man who killed her mother and brother. However, this wasn't enough for Arya — she wanted to take out all of House Frey so that this could never happen again.
The season opened with Walder Frey, who's supposed to be dead, holding a banquet for the rest of his family.
It turns out that Arya was wearing Walder's face, and she poisoned all of the men in the room.
So long, Frey family.
prevnextThe Sand Snakes
The Sand Snakes were lethal warriors, but they were no match fo the pure power of Euron Greyjoy's fleet.
The evil Euron took over Yara's fleet while she was at sea, slaughtering most of the crew in the process.
This includes two of the Martell daughters, who Euron killed with their own weapons.
Killing two of the three Sand Snakes wasn't enough for Euron and Cersei. He took Yara for himself, and turned Ellia and one of her daughters over to Cersei. The queen proceeded to poison and torture the two remaining Martell women and they haven't been heard from since.
prevnextOlenna Tyrell
In perhaps the best death scene of the entire season, Olenna Tyrell went out on her terms, no one else's.
The matriarch of High Garden knew she was going to die and Jaime gave her the option to take a poison that would give her death without any pain.
Olenna ended up taking the poison, but not until she told Jaime how terrible Cersei was for his well-being. She told him that Cersei would be the end of him if he stuck around.
Lady Tyrell also revealed that she was the one that orchestrated the death of Joffrey back in Season 4.
"I want her to know it was me," was easily one of the best lines of Season 7.
prevnextRandyll and Dickon Tarly
No one has ever really liked Randyll Tarly — mainly because he was SUPER hateful to everyone's best-friend-ever Samwell — so his death wasn't really upsetting to anyone.
Watching his son Dickon stick by his side was a little disappointing though, as we all held out hope that he would get a little better.
The most important factor in the deaths of the Tarly men was the way Daenerys handled the situation.
Dany was trying to prove that she wasn't going to take any prisoners, but the execution of Randyll and Dickon showed that she's still got a mean-streak that she has to deal with.
prevnextThoros of Myr
When Jon Snow led seven notable characters on a ridiculous expedition north of the wall, fans expected there to be quite a few casualties. Much to our collective surprise, only one of them went down.
Thoros of Myr met his end at the paws of a zombified polar bear, and it didn't exactly hit any fans in the feels.
It wasn't emotional, but the death of Thoros had some far-reaching implications in the world of Westeros. Let's remember, Thoros was a Red Priest.
With Melisandre gone, Thoros was the only one in Westeros who could bring people back from the dead. Now, Jon Snow and Beric Dondarrion will have to find a new supplier for all of their resurrection needs.
prevnextViserion
While Viserion was only a dragon, his death was definitely more important than any human's this season.
The Night King took Viserion down with an ice spear while Daenerys could do nothing but watch helplessly. The queen-to-be was devastated about losing one of her children, but we soon found out there was much more to this scene than we thought.
At the end of the episode, the Night King used his magical undead powers to bring Viserion back under his control.
The final scene in the season showed everyone just how big of a moment this was. The Night King rode Viserion to Eastwatch by the sea and proceeded to tear down an entire section of the 8,000-year-old wall, letting his entire army into Westeros.
prevnextLittlefinger
Littlefinger has been a major player in the Game of Thrones since the very first season, but his days had been numbered for some time.
The deceptive character had been playing Arya and Sansa Stark against each other for most of the season. His lies almost had the two sisters going to war with one another over nothing.
However, in one of the finale's biggest twists, Sansa revealed that she and Arya were onto Littleginger the whole time. With the help of the all-seeing Bran, the duo had Littlefinger choking on his twisted words.
He might have been a snake, but the series was always interesting when Littlefinger was involved.
