Much is still unknown regarding the plot of American Horror Story's seventh season, but fans know that the series will dive into this past year's election. Creator Ryan Murphy has revealed that the new season will begin on the night of the 2016 election, and everyone has been wondering if the candidates - including current president Donald Trump - would appear in the show.
Murphy has recently opened up about the subject, and revealed exactly how fans will see both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton used in this next season.
During an interveiw with E!, Murphy revealed that there will not be actors cast to play the politicians. However, you can expect to see them when the new season premieres in the fall.
"We don't have actors playing them. You'll see them on television. The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there's something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they're watching it all go down. Which in itself was a horror story, so it's like a horror story upon a horror story."
While much of this new season may revolve around politics, rest easy knowing Murphy likely has something else up his sleeve. The writer has always done a great job of taking something people are very familiar with, and adding enough twists and turns to get everyone creeped out.
The seventh season of American Horror Story doesn't have an official title yet, but is bringing back a couple of actors that are very close to the series. Both Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are scheduled to appear. The duo are joined by newcomers Billy Eichner and Billie Lourd, who have both signed on for major roles.
American Horror Story will return to FX in September.
