A Texas man is on the receiving end of heavy social media backlash after accusing former adult actress, Mia Khalifa, of punching him in the face while trying to take a selfie without permission.

The 20-year-old man, who gave his name as Jared during an interview with the San Antonio Express-News, spotted Mia Khalifa at a concert in Austin on June 23. The Lebanese adult film star was seen sporting glasses and a tight gray at the venue. After he ran up to snap the pic, Jared says Khalifa punched him in the jaw.

"Got a pic with Mia Khalifa and she punched me in the face and left a bruise," Jared tweeted.

Along with the tweet, Jared shared a picture of Mia Khalifa and then a photo showing the mark on his face.

After the images surfaced on the Internet, Khalifa's adoring fans quickly came to her defense.

"You wanna bully and disrespect female adult film stars to mask your insecurities?" one person tweeted. "Delete your account, you're worthless."

"Learn to ask for the [person's] permission before [taking] selfie with her/him," another wrote. "You deserve more than a punch. A prison sentence might be best 4 u."

Jared said that he only walked up to Mia Khalifa after seeing other fans who approached her and were able to take pictures without incident.

"Since me and my friends had already been ignored when we asked for a picture, I just decided to do what the others were doing," he said. "I walked ahead of her to the side and took a picture as she came up, making sure I wasn't in her space."

Jared said that the punch wasn't severe enough in order to involve the police.

"Honestly, it wasn't a big deal. I was just happy to have gotten a picture with her, but now there's all this drama and I'm not sure if it was worth posting," he said. "I posted just for my friends to have a good laugh at the situation, not to stir social arguments."
