For those who struggle to decide what Halloween costume they'd like to wear when they go out on October 31, a creepy clown is often a go-to outfit. In celebration of Stephen King's It, Spirit will be releasing two different masks to honor Pennywise the clown, which are both available now for pre-order.
For $59.99, you can snag the deluxe version of the mask which is much larger and features hair, as you can see from the photo above. The website describes the mask as, "From the sewers to the streets, nobody in Derry, Maine is safe. The iconic killer clown from Stephen Kings IT makes for one horrifying mask that's sure to bring the scares!"
If you're not looking to spend quite as much on a mask, there's a more affordable $12.99 version which gets the point across without breaking the bank.
The site describes the mask as, "Straight from the sewers of Maine, here comes your worst nightmare! This murderous mask features the always horrifying Pennywise the Clown from It! Hand out balloons and hand out scares with this intricately detailed mask."
The movie revolves around a group of young kids in Derry, Maine who come face-to-face with their worst fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries. The cast of IT
In the original 1990 mini-series adaptation of the novel, Tim Curry played the clown and had bright red hair with multicolored clothing, reflecting the popular clown ensemble of the time.
For this new version of Pennywise, director Andy Muschietti opted to adorn actor Bill Skarsgård in an outfit that mimics those worn by the earliest incarnations of clowns, with the implication being that Pennywise is detached from time and wears the clothing popular around the time of some of his first interactions with humanity.
It will land in theaters on September 8.
