Beyonce is reportedly in talks to take on a big role in the Lion King remake. The 35-year-old pop superstar is possibly going to join the star-studded cast to voice Nala.

Not only could Beyonce be voicing a character, but she may also be listed as a producer on the film's soundtrack. While the deal has not been confirmed, The Tracking Board reports that the "Formation" songstress is in serious talks to be heavily involved.

"There's still no word on the voice of Nala, though Beyonce is believed to be nearing a huge deal to voice the latter character and serve as the Elton John of the new film by producing the soundtrack, which is expected to feature new songs from the Grammy-winning singer as well as old favorites from the original Lion King. That's why Disney may be saving the Nala announcement for last, because the soundtrack has complicated negotiations and it's nearly as important as the film itself," the insider site reveals.

In the event that Beyonce signs on for the film, she will join the current cast, including Donald Glover as Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumba, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki and James Earl Jones returning to the role of Mufasa.

The film will be directed by Jon Favreau, who found previous success with last year's live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book, giving Disney big hopes for translating their animated hits into live-action blockbuster films.

The Lion King arrives in theaters in June 2019.
