One mom of three is sharing photos of the dimpling on her breast, as she says it was the only sign of the breast cancer she was later diagnosed with.

Sherrie Rhodes, a 37-year-old from Hull, England, wrote on Facebook about her surprising symptoms of breast cancer the day after she was diagnosed.

Because it wasn't a lump, Rhodes didn't think much of the dimpling on her breast, but went straight to the doctor — and when her biopsy came back positive, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"I couldn't stop crying," she told the Daily Mail. "I've got three children and having to tell them something like that was horrendous."

Rhodes knew that despite the emotional pain she was in, she had to get the word out to warn other women.

"I decided to do the post almost straight away. I was nervous about doing it but thought I'd do it in a delicate way and thought it would be worth it if it helped just one person, she said. "If I hadn't seen a post like this previously I wouldn't have known that this dimpling was a sign of cancer."

The post gained traction quickly as other women shared it and commented, thanking her for sharing and offering their support.

While lumps are thought of as the most common symptom of breast cancer, there are many other lesser-known warning signs. It's important to do self breast exams and be familiar with the size, texture and composition of your breasts.

If you notice any changes in the size, shape or appearance of your breasts, you should see your doctor. Mayo Clinic lists lumps, thickening, redness, pitting, dimpling, a newly inverted nipple, peeling, scaling and flaking as symptoms of breast cancer.
