The Demon is undefeated in WWE.

While Finn Balor is only 2-0 when he adorns his magic paint, both of those wins have come at SummerSlam. After a fun match, Balor rallied to for a nice combination of patented moves that was capped wit his Coup de Grace. Although it was all too predicable, Finn Balor would pin Bray Wyatt.

If WWE has any plans at all for Balor, he had to win this match. His brief wearing, leather jacket rocking, vacant cool guy character has quickly become one of the most arbitrary wrestlers on WWE's roster. In order to transcend his mediocrity, WWE and Finn Balor had to summon The Demon - almost an exact year since we last saw him.

Last time we saw Balor adorn his sultry layers of body paint, he pinned Seth Rollinsto become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. However, Balor sustained a shoulder injury during the match that would force him to forfeit the belt the next night on RAW. Balor's untimely injury turned what was supposed to be the beginning of an era into a disappointing footnote.

However, it looks like WWE is ready to build around Balor, or at least his Demon. While it's not news for Bray Wyatt to lose a pay-per-view match, a loss by Balor tonight would have proven to be insurmountable.

"I've been waiting on this for a long time — Demon Finn Balor. That's been my one gripe about Finn Balor. I think we need less Finn Balor and more Demon. I realize that's cumbersome and time-consuming to get into that character and to become the Demon. But I think it's worth it," said WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry Lawler, on a recent episode of his podcast, Dinner With the King.

Maybe WWE will take the hint - their best shot with Balor is by keeping his Demon character in focus.

For Wyatt, he's not in new circumstances. In fact, this is his career in a nutshell, he'll get a compelling oppnent, cut some archaic promos then lose their pay-per-view showdown. Word keeps leaking that WWE is high on Bray, but they have yet to actually prove it. The rehabilitation of Bray Wyatt may have begun.
