"Can't even believe I'm having to post this, but my timeline is FILLED with people being so mean to each other," she tweeted out to more than 380,000 followers. "I love my fans so, so much, and am sad to see the hate in these comments to each other. It's not what I stand for. I just want to make music and [make] people happy. That's it."

In a follow-up tweet, Ballerini wrote with a waving emoji, "Gonna take a little break from Twitter and refocus on the music."

It's unclear as to what exactly made Ballerini make such a drastic decision, but there has been some speculation among tweeters that the 23-year-old singer was being bullied online by certain users out of the fandom.

However, fans of Ballerini's supported her decision to stay off social media for a while, with one user kindly writing, "I'm sad that it had to get to this but I fully support your decision. Things will calm down eventually. Keep doin' you and spreading love!"

Ballerini even got love from actress, Clare Bowen, known for her role as Scarlett O'Connor in the CMT television series, Nashville who stood behind the songstress' decision.

"Baby, people who have the spare time to be awful on social media have holes in their souls [and] need to eat more fiber. You're wonderful," she wrote.

The acclaimed country singer, currently touring with Lady Antebellum on their You Look Good World Tour, retweeted Bowen, writing, "YOU" alongside heart emojis.
