Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins have had a majorly busy year, adopting 21-month-old daughter Willa Gray from Uganda in May and welcoming baby Ada James on Aug. 12. Now parents of two, the couple admits things can get chaotic, but they wouldn't have it any other way.

One of those chaotic moments came recently, when Akins was home alone with a hungry and crying baby, a screaming Willa Gray, barking dogs and a ringing doorbell.

"That was my moment of, 'Oh, sweet, sweet Jesus, just give me some help!'" Akins told People. "There are moments where I'm definitely like, 'Well, this isn't pretty.' "

"There's never a dull moment," she added. "We're tired, but we're happy!"

The couple shared that while Willa Gray had no problem moving to America from Uganda, adjusting to life with a baby sister has presented more of a challenge.

"Ada's literally attached to me most times of the day," Akins explained. "So Willa Gray is constantly saying, 'Hold you? Hold you?' and she wants me to pick her up. That has been the hardest part for her."

While the couple has had moments of wondering whether things were going to work out, they shared that time spent with their family has made them certain that everything will be just fine.

"That first morning we were all home, we were all together in a room, both girls, both dogs, both of us and we were just chilling and I was like, 'This is what we've been preparing for for over a year,'" Akins said. "We finally got there. And look how beautiful our girls are. It brought me so much peace and happiness."
