Kim Kardashian Says She Hopes to Have Third Child
In a telling interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kim Kardashian confirmed that she and her [...]
The American Pregnancy Association defines placenta accrete as when the "placenta attaches too deeply into the wall of the uterus," preventing it from easily detaching at the time of birth. This condition affects an approximate 1 in 2,500 pregnancies.
While the specific cause of placenta accreta is unknown, it can be related to placenta previa and previous cesarean deliveries.
"They say that this is what some women died from as a result of childbirth back in the day, without proper care. I'm so thankful that my doctor was able to catch this and address the issue immediately," she wrote in a candid blog post, chronicling her journey to motherhood. But treatment for it was quite painful though as she shared her experience.
"My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!" she revealed about welcoming North.

Kardashian goes on to reveal that her mother was crying when she learned about the news and watched the procedure, writing she had "never seen anything like" it before.
"My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that — it was the most painful experience of my life," she wrote. "They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal."
Kardaashian says after all that though, she still had a piece of placenta attached inside, with a follow-up surgery to remove the scar tissue. Unfortunately, it was all preventing her from getting pregnant a second time with her 1-year-old, Saint West.
"[But] I have amazing doctors that helped me through the entire process and I am so grateful I was able to conceive again!" she wrote.

However, in her blog post, she dove deeper into the subject adding that with all the issues and her risk of preclampsia, a complicated condition that develops 20 weeks after pregnancy and affects five percent of women, and her placenta acreeta increasing, there is not much she can do to prevent it from occurring again despite stressing less and going with the flow.
In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians shortly after her giving birth to Saint West, she revealed to her family that because of her high-risk pregnancies, she just wouldn't be able to carry another one, disclosing that the growing family would look into surrogacy soon enough.

While this might all be a very private subject to be open about and something many do not talk about publicly, Kardashian has been open and honest about her struggles from the start in hopes to connect with those that experience similar issues.
However, she does have one qualm about her pregnancy when it came to sharing it all with the public.
Dishing to The Hollywood Reporter about how a sex tape led to a billion dollar brand and renowned attention for the beloved family for more than 10 years, she says she wishes the cameras didn't follow her around for so much of her pregnancy.
"I definitely wish I didn't film so much pregnant. I looked like such a cow and I can't stand to see those episodes. I would say, 'Try to film me more from chest up, so it looks better,' but I look like a blob. I would have rather seen my belly and shot farther away."
