Kesha returns to her country roots with a duet with Dolly Parton on her new album Rainbow.

The pair sings "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You," a song that holds memories for both women. Although the song is featured on Kesha's new album, it is not an original tune for her.

The song was actually written by Kesha's mom, Pebe Serbert and became a number 14 U.S. country hit in 1978. Additionally, Parton later covered it and included a version of the song on her 1980 Dolly, Dolly, Dolly album.

The song is about telling your lover to not feel threatened by your "old flames" because they are in the past.

Overall, Kesha's album Rainbow will feature many tones of country and her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

Since her legal battle ended with Dr. Luke, she has a new sense of freedom, which allowed her to pursue this musical path.

Kesha also collaborates with Ben Folds Five, The Dap Kings and even pays tribute to June Carter Cash on her album.
