Shania Twain's got a new single and it's poppin' — literally.

The catchy new tune, "Poor Me," which Twain wrote and co-produced, offers a completely different sound from the songstress of country and even slightly resembles "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers, Rolling Stone points out.

In other words, it's nearly straight-up pop.

The song delves into the singer-songwriter's struggle with coming to terms with the end of her long marriage to producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. Throughout the height of her career, Lange and Twain co-wrote and co-produced all of her music.

This time, however, Twain was all solo.

"I'm a songwriter first. That absolutely drives everything. It was a big step toward independence. I pushed myself, knowing it was going to scare me and knowing that I, alone, was responsible for however it turned out," she said, according to ET Canada.

The track is included in the 16-track deluxe and 12-track standard albums of NOW, the new record that will be released on September 29.
