Justin Theroux is getting candid about married life to actress, Jennifer Aniston and what a perfect relationship would be like in a "perfect world."

The 46-year-old tells luxury menswear magazine, MR. PORTER that their relationship since the start has always been based on "comedy one-upmanship," and he is not one bit threatened by her stellar sense of humor.

"Why would a man be intimidated by a funny woman?" he told the magazine. "In a perfect world, a relationship is two people laughing together."

The Leftovers star goes on to admit that his wife is the first to tell him if a joke isn't that great, revealing she calls him out by simply saying, "That's not funny."

When asked if 48-year-old Aniston would allow fart jokes, he replied, "Of course she would allow a fart joke, but I think she actually has a more refined sense of humor than to crack a fart joke. I think she's funnier than that."

Theroux also opened up about fame, saying he has a "front-row seat to the insanity," and understands how Hollywood can "drive people insane."

"You have to be the guardian of your own senses. If a tree falls in the forest and you're not there to see it, you know," he said. "But for the most part, it's not as pervasive in our lives as people think. Occasionally you'll get whacked by something. It's definitely something you have to analyze and come to terms with. Which I think [my wife] has done very elegantly and pretty effortlessly."

Theroux might have gotten married to Aniston in 2015, after meeting on the set of their comedy, Wanderlust in 2011, but he also admits one choice made years ago could have actually sped up that romance. Theroux admits he could have been cast for the NBC sitcom, Friends, but just didn't make it to the audition.

"I didn't bother. I slept in that day," he said, adding, he just "wouldn't have been prepared for [the fame]."
