Robin Williams Batman V. Superman

Earlier tonight, Billy Crystal gave a touching tribute to his friend Robin Williams at the 66th Annual Emmy Awards. As a very talented actor and comedian, Robin Williams usually had his choice of TV and movie roles, but there was one particular role that eluded him. Williams was a comic book fan, and he had expressed interest in appearing in a Batman film.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Williams said, "I would work with Chris [Nolan] again in a second, playing anyone in anything. I'd play The Riddler in the next Batman, although it'd be hard to top Heath as the villain, and I'm a little hairy for tights. Plus, the Batman films have screwed me twice before: years ago they offered me The Joker and then gave it to Jack Nicholson, then they offered me The Riddler and gave it to Jim Carrey."

Williams would likely have been great as The Riddler or The Joker, but unfortunately now fans will never have the chance to see Williams in a Batman movie. Or could they?

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman. Affleck co-wrote Good Will Hunting, which Williams appeared in and won his only Oscar for. After the tragic news of Williams death, Affleck wrote, "Robin had a ton of love & did so much for so many. He made Matt & my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything."

So here's an idea. World of Warcraft has revealed that they are including a memorial to Robin Williams in the game to honor the comedian, who was a big fan of the game. Could Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice include some type of image of Robin Williams to finally recognize him in a Batman movie?

Since Ben Affleck is playing an older version of Bruce Wayne, it's been rumored that his Batcave will include mementos from his history. What if one of the mementos was an old newspaper article with an image of Williams as a Batman character, whether it be The Riddler or some other character? Just a brief, nice nod to a man, who wanted to be in a Batman movie but never got the chance.
