Two more actors have joined the cast of The Chair, the upcoming horror/thriller based on the graphic novel from Alterna Comics's Peter Simeti. The film follows the story of Richard Sullivan, an innocent man struggling to escape execution on death row. Witnessing the torture and murder of his fellow inmates at the hands of the prison's sadistic and psychotic Warden, Sullivan decides that the only way to survive is to fight back. But as he matches the savagery and brutality occurring in the prison, Sullivan is forced to come face to face with his own sanity. Brian Thompson has been cast to play Sullivan, the innocent man at the center of The Chair. Thompson, whose career began in earnest with a small role in 1984's The Terminator, is arguably best known for his roles in genre fare like The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: Enterprise and Charmed. He has also appeared in minor roles in Superboy and Birds of Prey, and most recently made a guest appearance on Hawaii Five-0.

Noah Hathaway rounds out the prison guard crew as the newest guard to the prison, Alvarez. Hathaway, who played Boxey in the original Battlestar Galactica, is most familiar to fans as Atreyu from The Neverending Story. Between 1986 and 2012, he was primarily working outside of the entertainment industry, first as a muay thai fighter and then as the owner of a motorcycle shop. He returned to acting in the last few years with projects like Sushi Girl and Blue Dream. Several other actors are in talks to fill out the cast, which Alterna says is very close to being complete. Financing for the film is in the works as well as a Kickstarter to help supplement the rest of the budget.
