Speaking at the “Destination: Star Trek” convention in Frankfurt, Germany (via What Culture), Karl Urban said that he is having “conversations” about a possible sequel to Dredd.
Dredd brought in less than $36 million worldwide at the box office after costing Lionsgate $50 million to make, so a sequel seemed like a pretty big longshot. But the film has brought in an impressive $17 million in home video sales and become something a cult favorite for fans of Judge Dredd.
Urban himself has done his part, encouraging fans to not only buy the film but to be very vocal about their desire for a sequel. Maybe there’s a chance after all.
