Lex Luthor and Doomsday

While pretty much all the news surfacing about Batman Vs. Superman lately should be labeled as rumor, there is pretty compelling evidence that the two main villains in the film will be Doomsday and Lex Luthor. We've rounded up some of the evidence so far supporting Doomsday and Lex Luthor as the villains. Easters Eggs  – As far as Easter Eggs in Man of Steel, there was no bigger and more frequent Easter Egg than the numerous references to Lex Luthor. LexCorp appeared atop an office tower, on two different trucks, and in a sign on a building under construction. As far as Doomsday, there is a little known Doomsday Easter Egg on the Man of Steel Blu-Ray. Back in November, Comicbook.com was first to spot and report on a "Beware Bertron's curse, for he is named Doomsday" Easter Egg that we found in the Kryptonian documentary included in the Man of Steel Blu-Ray extras. This report by Comicbook.com preceded all the recent Doomsday rumors, and it appears to be the first time that any rumors suggesting the possibility of Doomsday in the Man of Steel sequel surfaced online. For director Zack Snyder to specifically include a Doomsday Easter Egg on the Man of Steel Blu-Ray certainly suggests he has plans to include the character in the Man of Steel universe. Casting Rumors – There have been numerous casting rumors revolving around various actors being tied to the Lex Luthor role in Batman Vs. Superman. While some of the rumors involving specific actors could likely be false, it can't be ignored that Lex Luthor is the name that surfaces over and over again in virtually all of the Batman Vs. Superman villain casting rumors. Unless a number of usually reliable, well-known entertainment sites are completely making up Lex Luthor casting rumors, Lex Luthor will be part of Batman Vs. Superman. There have been less rumors in regards to Doomsday casting, but Doomsday seems to be the most frequent name surfacing after Lex Luthor. For example, both Jason Momoa and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have been rumored for Batman Vs. Superman, and they both fit the body-size for Doomsday. People In The Know -  Back in December before the latest Lex Luthor and Doomsday rumors, a post on the Batman-on-Film Facebook page suggested that there would be two Superman villains featured in Batman Vs. Superman. More recently, Warner Bros. producer Daniel Alter tweeted, "Cranston's name popped up way back/don't know whats happening. More than 1 villain tho. #DOOMSDAY is coming." Alter isn't directly working on Batman Vs. Superman, so his tweets are just him speaking as a fan, but he's got industry connections and was accurate about Wonder Woman. Most importantly, director Zack Snyder himself seemingly confirmed Lex Luthor during a Man of Steel fan event. Snyder said, "Lex loves calling [Superman] an alien. I like that." Batman Vs. Superman is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on July 17, 2015.
