The movie poster for Rob Thomas's Veronica Mars has been released. The film, financed through Kickstarter by more than 90,000 backers who donated more than $5 million, will come to select theaters on March 14 and DVD and Blu-ray shortly after (though Kickstarter backers who paid for a digital copy will get that within a day or two of the theatrical release). The cult-hit show, which aired on The WB and later The CW before being cancelled, and the poster features breakout star Kristen Bell (who turned into kind of a big deal, headlining things like House of Lies on Showtime and this summer's Disney hit Frozen) but also every major character from the series, including some that hadn't yet  been seen in the official trailer. In the film Veronica Mars, former high school sleuth, has moved to New York City nine years after the events of Season 3. She wishes to distance herself as far from her hometown Neptune as possible, but is forced to return to her old hometown when her old boyfriend Logan Echolls is once again accused of murder. Helping to prove he isn't guilty puts a strain on her relationship with Stosh "Piz" Piznarski, with whom she's apparently recently reconnected (in trailers, he talks about his mother never having met Veronica, which doesn't seem likely if they've been together for the whole nine years since season three). Other familiar faces on the poster include Galaxy Quest's Enrico Colantoni, Napoleon Dynamite's Tina Majorino and Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter. Not featured, but appearing in the film, are Jerry Maguire star Jerry O'Connell and Halloween's Jamie Lee Curtis. Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard) and James Franco (Spider-Man) will make cameo appearances as well.
