Even though Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was almost universally panned by the fans, leading man Harrison Ford won't rule out a return to the character. With rumors that he's preparing a return to the Star Wars franchise as Han Solo, Ford's other major Lucasfilm role came up for discussion during a new interview--and he had a pretty thoughtful answer for the question. "We've seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it's perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn't necessarily have to kick as much ass," he told The Telegraph. "To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do." Of course, back when Disney bought Lucasfilm, they announced a new Star Wars trilogy but intimated that new Indiana Jones films weren't high priorities for Disney. "We didn't ascribe any value to the Indiana Jones franchise due to the encumbrances that exist," said Disney's Robert Iger at the time, referring presumably to exit fees that would reportedly have to be paid to Paramount, who distributed the previous Indiana Jones films, in order to take the property elsewhere. Asked by an investor whether the studio planned on capitalizing on any of the other intellectual properties that Lucasfilm owns, the company said there were no plans to do so, and that they were "focusing on Star Wars" in the foreseeable future.
