Reddit Marvel Comics

Back in 2007 when Digg was all the rage, Marvel Comics featured an image of Kevin Rose wearing a diggnation t-shirt on the cover of Captain America The Chosen #6. Now, that Reddit has emerged as the social news sharing site of choice, it's their turn for their moment in the sun in a a Marvel comic book....sort of. Instead of a cover image or a likeness of one of the founders, Marvel Comics' FF #6 includes a reference to Reddit, except instead of calling it Reddit, they rename the site as Readit. In the issue, Ant-Man says, "Ten minutes ago, I emailed your passwords and numbers to, oh, gosh, everyone. Any rival hacker gang I could think of, news sites you've embarrassed, embassies, tech blogs...really anybody who'd think this was funny. And if you don't believe me, go look at whose embarrassing poetry, bad pony photoshops, and dollhouse furniture databases are on

Captain America Diggnation

the front page of Readit right now." Wonder why Marvel Comics didn't just reference Reddit directly? If they could show Kevin Rose on a cover in a diggnation T-shirt, one would think they could at least say Reddit in the interior of a comic book. And of course, the scene has already found its way onto the real Reddit (image via Reddit).
