For the last several months, Iron Man 3 has been filming in various locations around North Carolina. While most of the filming has taken place in Wilmington, Comicbook.com has also brought you photos from filming taking place in Cary and Rose Hill. We've been hearing that Iron Man 3 filming has pretty much wrapped up in North Carolina now. There might be some in studio scenes left to film, but the last major location shoot we heard about was at the Port Of Wilmington over Labor Day weekend. The Caged Heat Casting page also hasn't put out any requests for extras since Labor Day weekend and is now referring visitors to their main casting page, which is another good sign that filming in North Carolina is done. Back in May, Comicbook.com was also first to report the presence of City of Miami and Miami PD cars on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington. Soon afterwards it was revealed that some filming would also take place in Florida, and now we have an official start date. According to the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Office of Film & Entertainment, Iron Man 3 will begin filming in Broward County, Florida on October 1. Filming locations will include Broward County's Dania Beach and other neighboring South Florida communities. "We have had two very exciting back to back years of major film production in Greater Fort Lauderdale – we rocked with 'Rock of Ages' last summer with Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin. Now we have the marvelous Marvel comic book hero," said Noelle Stevenson, Film Commissioner, Broward Office of Film & Entertainment. "Of significance is that the filmmakers can conveniently shoot a variety of landscapes here, from city skyline to 23 miles of pristine sun-splashed beaches to nature unleashed in the Everglades."
