Last fall, Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato's now 3-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with cancer. In April, the actress said her son was doing "well," and in a recent interview with Argentinian TV host Susana Giménez, Lopilato opened up about her son's battle against the disease.

She shared that doctors initially thought Noah had the mumps or an infection, but later did an ultrasound and discovered something more serious.

Because Buble was working in England at the time, Lopilato couldn't get him on the phone to share the news, so she made the decision to take Noah to Los Angeles for treatment, something the couple had previously agreed upon as a middle ground between her family in Argentina and his in Canada.

“It was all from God — I don’t know how to explain it,” Lopilato said. “If we hadn’t done that ultrasound to find out if he had mononucleosis … it would have been so much worse.”

Bublé immediately flew to his son's side, and he and Lopilato remained with Noah in L.A. for seven months, along with their families.

“We did all the tests, and finally, we found out that it was what it was,” Lopilato recalled. “These things, when they happen to you in life, they make you realize that the most important thing isn’t what you thought it was — it’s to have faith, to be strong.”

“There were nights I couldn’t sleep, that I prayed to God,” she said. “Because it is a long process — but thank God the worst is over.”

The 30-year-old shared that during Noah's time in the hospital, people dressed in superhero costumes came to help lift the boy's spirits.

“For any parent, it’s devastating to receive news like this. It was very heavy. We received all the prayers, all the calls. The only thing that got me through it was faith, from the very beginning," Lopilato said.

“Love, being together, family — that was indispensable,” she added. “It made us stronger.”
