Brock Lesnar has never been pushed this far in his WWE career. He's never been manhandled like this. For the first time ever, a WWE Superstar was more physically dominant than Brock Lesnar.

Yes, Brock Lesnar retained his Universal Championship tonight. But it took everything he had. He's never been that sweaty or that inflammed, desperate color of red before. He's never had Braun Strowman beat him down before.

From the opening bell, Lesnar was the target of the field's offense. But no one hone in on the Beast Incarnate more than Stowman. The Monster Among Men's assauly was so potent that Lesnar was actually forced to the back.

In Lesnar's absence, Reigns, Joe, and Strowman would do their best to destroy one another. No surprise, Stowman dominated that affair as well. Just as he took a breather from clearing the ring Lesnar stormed from the back.

Lesnar went toe-to-toe with Strowman, giving us a preview of something that could very special - if the Wrestling Gods are good, they'll give us that match one day.

Eventually, Lesnar would isolate and pin Roman Reigns (ironically) to escape with his Universal Championship

The narrative that Lesnar is leaving WWE for UFC has proven to be just noise (for now). No matter what John Jones says, what Dana White doesn't say, or the fact that Paul Heyman said that he and Brock will leave WWE if he lost tonight, Brock Lesnar is still your Universal Champion.

WWE and UFC have recognized that they can make more money by using one another. While Brock may indeed have his super fight with John Jones, it contractually can not happen until 2018. Lesnar's WWE deal is up after WrestleMania 34. On top of that, Lesnar is still suspended by UFC and will remain that way for at least another 5 months. And for the cherry on this logical banana split - Lesnar is being advertised for WWE events after Summerslam, letting us know that he won't executing Heyman's threat because he'll win at SummerSlam.

Speaking of events after SummerSlam, we reported yesterday that Lesnar and Strowman are set to meet at next month's No Mercy in Los Angles. Now that should bump the WWE Network subscriptions.
