Spoiler Regarding Brock Lesnar and His WWE Universal Championship

Have we all been fleeced?

For the past 2 weeks, we've been hearing whispers about Brock Lesnar leaving WWE for UFC. Over the weekend those same murmurs turned into screams as Jon Jones called out the Beast Incarnate on a live UFC microphone.

Then on Monday, Paul Heyman proclaimed a self-imposed ultimatum that if Brock Lesnar does not win at SummerSlam then both he and Heyman will leave WWE.

And it's all a farce.

According to an exclusive report from PWstream, the rumors around Brock Lesnar dropping the Universal Championship and leaving for UFC are all one giant attempt to maximize intrigue for the August pay-per-view. In short, expect Brock Lesnar to remain at SummerSlam.

"The current feeling backstage is that Brock doesn't want to leave WWE. And in fact, is using a potential move to the UFC as a bargaining chip, rather than a legitimate offer he's willing to take. The reported plan, from Lesnar's side, is to use the UFC deal as leverage for a bigger WWE deal after WrestleMania, when his contract expires."

So what sounds more like a conspiracy theory is actually a business tool. Lesnar is looking for the biggest payday, and playing WWE and UFC against one another is the perfect way to do so.

Lesnar is still scheduled for multiple WWE appearances after SummerSlam including live events, No Mercy, the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 34. So while Lesnar may indeed return to UFC one day, it will not be until after WrestleMania.

This is the case for two very big reasons. The first is that Lesnar's contract is not up until after WrestleMania 34. So all of this "loser leaves town" stuff is just noise. Second, he has nowhere to go. Lesnar has two months to serve on his UFC suspension for failing a drug test. These are two immovable objects when it comes to Brock Lesnar's future, he must legally serve both of them.

All of this said, WWE can still have the Beast lose his title at SummerSlam. While it would appear that he would be leaving for good, it would only be a temporary absence and Lesnar would one day make a sure to be explosive return to WWE later this year. Regardless the interest in SummerSlam's Fatal 4-Way with Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe is getting juicier by the second. When August 20 finally arrives, we'll be ready to explode.
