Justin Bieber has canceled the remainder of his Purpose world tour, the singer's rep confirmed in a statement Monday.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts," read the statement, which was posted on Bieber's Facebook page. "Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over the last 18 months."

Bieber was scheduled to perform over a dozen more shows over the next few months, traveling through North America before concluding the jaunt in Asia in October.

"It wasn't a decision made overnight," a source told Variety of the singer's decision. "He's had some time off and was able to consider his commitments."

The 23-year-old began the Purpose tour in March 2016. He was recently banned from performing in China due to a series of "bad behaviors," the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture wrote on its website via The New York Times.
