There is no better way to celebrate Fourth of July than with an inspiring country song to remind us of our freedom. In the video clip, Martina McBride belts "Independence Day" during a Fourth concert with The Boston Pops in 2011.

McBride has just the celebratory tune with "Independence Day" and has been belting it since 1996 when it was launched on her second album, The Way That I Am.

"Independence Day" was the third single on McBride's second album, The Way That I Am. Am was her first Country Top 10 album, mainly due to the success of "Independence Day" and it's no wonder as it evokes such patriotism and excitement. The popular tune was originally offered to Reba McEntire by the songwriter Gretchen Peters, however, McEntire turned it down.

In 2003, Day ranked 50th in CMT's 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music. The following year, it ranked #2 in CMT's 100 Greatest Videos in Country Music. This song goes beyond the country charts, however. If you have attended any fireworks celebration or parades surrounding the Fourth, you have most likely heard McBride's version of the song and let's be honest, sang along with a smile.
