It's official! Fans' dreams are coming true. Thanks to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Jurassic World 2 has officially confirmed it will bring Jeff Goldblum back to the time of dinosaurs. The actor is set to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World 2.

Currently, there are few details available about what part Goldblum will play in the film, but fans are happy enough to hear the actor is making a comeback. The star last appeared in a Jurassic Park feature back in 1997 when The Lost World debuted. Prior to that, the actor appeared in original Jurassic Park circa 1993.

In that past, Goldblum has hinted he would be more than happy returning to the franchise is logistics worked out. Speaking with Fandango, Goldblum admitted he was open to the idea of reprising Dr. Malcom for the Jurassic World trilogy.

"I'm nothing if not open. I'm like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open -- I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied."

Now, it seems like the studio behind Jurassic World is also interested in bringing back one of the original franchise's stars. Fans have long hoped Goldblum would reappear in the franchise, and their hopes have since been answered. Before the actor reprises his know-it-all role, fans will be able to see Goldblum stretch his acting muscles in Thor: Ragnarok.

Hopefully, the actor won't run into too many dinosaurs with the Marvel flick...
